Lordship Lane, South East London

Project overview
Insurance-funded mould remediation following a leak from the property above, which resulted in hidden moisture damage and mould growth within the wall cavities.
A detailed survey, together with air and surface swab sampling, confirmed the extent of the contamination before remediation works were planned.

Our approach
Due to the occupants having sensitivities to mould, the project was completed using Medically Important Remediation principles.
A full containment was erected and placed under negative pressure using HEPA air filtration to prevent cross-contamination during the removal works.
What we did
Mould-contaminated materials were physically removed from the affected wall cavities and surrounding areas.
The affected structural surfaces were professionally remediated before the area was HEPA vacuumed and cleaned.
Surface swab testing was carried out after cleaning to verify the condition of the remediated environment.
The result
The environment was returned to Condition 1, Normal Fungal Ecology, in accordance with the principles of the IICRC S520 Standard.
The completed works provided a verified remediation outcome for an insurance-funded leak-related mould issue while prioritising occupant sensitivity and contamination control.
