Cuffley, Potters Bar

Project overview
Following a leaking roof, significant mould growth had developed within a family home. Due to the occupants having heightened sensitivity to mould, the project was undertaken using Medically Important Remediation principles.
This project demonstrates our commitment to carrying out evidence-based remediation that prioritises occupant health while achieving the highest recognised industry standards.

Our approach
A full containment enclosure was erected, incorporating HEPA-filtered negative air filtration to prevent cross-contamination of unaffected areas throughout the property.
The work was planned around Medically Important Remediation principles, with containment, physical removal, detailed cleaning and verification forming the core of the project.
What we did
All mould-contaminated building materials were physically removed in accordance with industry best practice.
Exposed structural timber joists were carefully remediated using mechanical cleaning methods to remove fungal contamination, rather than relying on chemical treatments alone.
Following remediation, the work area underwent a detailed small particle clean, with post-remediation verification including surface swab testing.
The result
Post-remediation verification confirmed the area had been returned to Condition 1, Normal Fungal Ecology, in line with the principles of the IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation.
The result was a remediated and verified work area delivered with a focus on occupant health, cross-contamination control and recognised industry standards.
